EVERYTHING you need to know about travel in SW China

 - Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Tibet TAR

In addition to providing excellent guide services, we all found him to be very likeable and enjoyed our time with him. We have already recommended Keith to friends visiting Lijiang. I would recommend Keith highly. He is a great resource for English speakers visiting Lijiang. He gave us information on all kinds of subjects from the weather to local customs and architecture.

Keith went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable including picking up coffee and tea for us to take back home. I also appreciated that he brought special local food for us to try. He is a real ambassador for Yunnan. His love of the region is contagious.

Keith organized a tailor-made tour in Yunnan according to our expectations. We discovered the region from the inside, hiking as often as possible and avoiding the touristy spots and paths. On many occasions, we had the chance to meet local people, sharing meals and having interesting talks with them. The tour offered various activities, including hikes on the Tibetan plateau, bird watching, visits of local monasteries, villages and markets...

Keith was always caring about us, adapting each visit according to our physical shape and wishes. He provided us with a lot of explanations about the culture, the religion, the habits and the life of the Naxi people he knows well. He also facilitated the communication with the staff of the guesthouses, who did not always speak English, and made some good choices about the accommodation and restaurants.

This tour fully met our expectations, and we strongly recommend Keith as a guide.

During my trips, normally I don't take guides: I made an exception for this trip because of possible languge complications and I was very satisfied. I traveled Guangxi and Guizhou with Keith, just me and him, with public transports as train, buses and everything else like motorcycles and trucks. Not only to save money but also to enjoy the real life like local people.
Thanks to him I had the opportunity to exchange ideas and experience with local people, that's something very important if you want to interact with this wonderful people.
I am fond of local cultures and found Keith to be very respectful and knowledgeable of them. Moreover, I love to take pictures and Keith, who is also a teacher of photography technique, helped me giving me advices or simply enough time to explore the possible clicks.
I'm looking forward to repeat the experience traveling with him in Yunnan or other provinces.

We used Keith Lyons' services as a tour guide for two days in Lijiang during that time, and he also helped obtain tickets and provided guidance to Dali.

Keith's services were beyond our expectations:  he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and its people, experienced, polite, and seemed to know exactly what we wanted to see and do after having had just a few brief conversations by email and phone prior to getting there.  This is extremely important because he used our time wisely, but we never felt rushed at all.  Travelling with three children is challenging, but Keith was very patient and always kept all of us engaged.  He seemed very experienced in guiding families.  I also had a minor medical issue to deal with when we were there and Keith without hesitation helped me get the attention I needed, for which I was very thankful.  He is very kind, helpful and resourceful.

Our trip would not have been as memorable or enjoyable without him!  We felt so fortunate to have had him to guide us while we were there.
